Compatibility
Can I view or edit TealTracker data on my PC? (100%) Yes. You can run TealTracker Desktop for Windows PC, a separate application that is fully file compatible the handheld versions of TealTracker.
Thanks, that helped! Installation
When I download and run TealTracker Desktop, it doesn't stay on my machine; no shortcuts are made in the Windows Start menu. (100%) The TealTrac.exe download is not an installer; it's the program itself. When you download it, you should save it to a convenient location, such as your Windows Desktop. From there, you can run it directly, or manually make start menu shortcuts by right-clicking on the program and using the windows "create shortcut" menu.
Thanks, that helped! Troubleshooting
After upgrading to TealTracker 1.28, I get warnings about TealTracker_Report.PDB when I HotSync. (100%) When the Palm Desktop backs up files, it converts all the spaces in filenames to underscores. This can cause a conflict if two files have similar names, one having understores while the other has spaces.
In the TealTracker 1.28, we changed the default report save name from "TealTracker Report.PDB" to "TealTracker_Report.PDB" to make it compatible with the PocketPC version of the program.
If you have any older reports saved with the previous default name, just go to the report screen and browse the saved reports and "delete" the older file with the space.
Thanks, that helped!
When I "synchronize" in TealTracker Desktop, the operation completes but I'm not seeing any handheld data. (100%) You must first run the same "synchronize" operation in the handheld version of the program, setting the "sync to" picklist to "TealTracker Desktop."
For PalmOS, next perform a HotSync, making sure your Backup/System conduit in HotSync is set to "Handheld overwrites desktop."
For Windows Mobile, just plug in your device to your PC and make sure ActiveSync connects with it before running the data sync on the Desktop app.
Thanks, that helped!
